People Skills for Technologists?

I've been teaching a class at Cal State San Marcos this semester and last night I had the CIO of Qualcomm as my guest speaker.

Norm is a great speaker and I was really impressed with his focus on COLLABORATION and PEOPLE SKILLS as the driver for his career and his advice for the students to focus on.

Norm relayed a message that we've heard from each CIO in the class....that technical skills alone are not enough to grow your career in IT.   In fact, most of the CIO's that have presented in my class affirm my primary message, which is to have a strong foundation in business and collaboration to grow your career.

I will post more of the CIO's that attend my MIS320 class at Cal State San Marcos.

Project Management Institute

Steve is speaking at the upcoming Project Management Institute's yearly conference with his friend, Sean D Tucker.     Steve and Sean are going to film a short intro flying together in the Oracle Challenger 3 and an Extra 300L, focusing on collaboration and passion.  It will be a fun event!

The New Technology Paradigm Update

Hello and Happy New Year!

The second edition of "The New Technology Paradigm" will be available in the next few days!   We decided to add a second edition with a new cover and some corrections in timing with Steve Romeo's new college courses that he is instructing.  The book is now required reading at two Universities and will continue to gain steam as it is made available to a variety of public and private schools.


The New Technology Paradigm is a book about finding your passion, courage, and improving your skill as a collaborator.  It's about following your dreams and creating the future you want for yourself.  

Written by Steve Romeo and Brandt Morgan, this books is targeted at the IT Professional, the businessman, as well as the student, looking for a way into the business world.
